Winter with the family in Lac-Saint-Jean

In Lac-Saint-Jean, we like to take advantage of the winter to slide, skate, ski, walk, fish, discover, and warm up with the family.

To help you plan your vacation, here are our best suggestions for activities for winter activities in the Domaine-du-Roy RCM.

Outdoor activities for winter at the Lake

Historical village of Val-Jalbert

Once again this year, the Village historique de Val-Jalbert invites you to come and enjoy the winter season on its site!

A host of activities are offered in partnership with the Club Plein-Air Ouiatchouan: walking, sliding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, theatrical performance vignettes, and the opening of the general store. Don't forget to try blueberry taffy on snow and warm up by the outdoor fireplaces when the day is over!

Several new features are also to be expected this winter, including the addition of a third 170 m slide, the opening of the Restaurant du Moulin every Friday and Saturday, the addition of several kilometres of cross-country ski and walking trails, as well as a new heated rest area in the heart of the village.

Roberval Ice Village

From the beginning of January, the frozen expanse of Lac Saint-Jean becomes the site of many activities.

Among the most famous, the ephemeral Village on Ice of Roberval offers everything you need to spend a full day with the family, including fatbike rentals, an ice ring, and even the reservation of a prospector's tent to rest and warm up!

Let’s get moving in Saint-Prime

Free activity! - In Saint-Prime, take a family stroll on the trails of the Boisé du Curé, located behind the Quatre-Temps Recreation Center, on foot or on snowshoes. In the evening, from 3:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., the trail is illuminated with string lights and spotlights.

After a good day playing outside, head to Restaurant Chez Perron to warm up and recharge your batteries. For dessert, satisfy your sweet tooth at Miss Gâteaux.

Saint-Félicien Wild Zoo

This winter, discover the Zoo sauvage de Saint-Félicien in a different way! As most of the species present at the Zoo sauvage de Saint-Félicien are acclimatized to cold, it is possible to observe animals in quasi-liberty and very active in winter.

What if it's stormy at the Lake?

Snow and cold, other than watch television, what do you do?

Why not take advantage of the break to watch a good movie with the family? The Domaine-du-Roy RCM has two cinemas: the Cinéma Chaplin (Roberval) and the Cinéma du Zoo (Saint-Félicien).

It is also the perfect opportunity to visit the Amerindian Museum of Mashteuiatsh, one of the most interesting museums in Quebec. Come discover the culture of the Pekuakamiulnuatsh (Lac Saint-Jean Ilnus) and other First Nations of North America through fascinating activities and exhibits.
