Access and beaches of Lac Saint-Jean
A true inland sea, Lac Saint-Jean is certainly one of the most beautiful bodies of water in Quebec. All summer long, you can enjoy the lake in different ways while admiring its endless blue horizon. Whether it is to get to the beach or to access a boat launch, the lake offers great opportunities for family activities.
Relax on the beaches of the Domaine-du-Roy RCM
Lac Saint-Jean is known for its fine sand and warm waters that rival the most beautiful southern destinations.
In Saint-Prime, at the corner of Fromagerie Perron, enjoy the magnificent Saint-Prime municipal beach, accessible free of charge and supervised by a lifeguard on sunny days. Located a stone's throw from the Véloroute des Bleuets, the Saint-Prime campground, and the marina, it’s the ideal place for a picnic and to enjoy swimming secured by a rope of buoys!
Among the most magnificent beaches in the region, Camping Plage Robertson, in Mashteuiatsh, also stands out for its half-kilometre of beach where it is possible to swim and go for a walk. Are you planning a romantic outing? This is the perfect place to watch the sunset (and some Northern Lights, on occasion).
On the sunniest of days, do not miss the municipal beach at Pointe Scott, in Roberval. This beautiful beach is supervised every day. Don’t forget to bring a lunch and a volleyball, as you can take advantage of the courts provided for this purpose and a beautiful picnic area, very close to the Véloroute des Bleuets.
Then, continue your journey and reach the splendid beach of Camping Plage Blanchet, in Chambord, for a safe swim and a magnificent view of Lac Saint-Jean.
Finally, why not take advantage of your stay in Lac-Saint-Jean to make a little getaway to Lac-Bouchette? On the way towards the Ermitage St-Antoine, enjoy a good ice cream while admiring the beautiful view of the municipal beach of Lac-Bouchette, one of the neighbouring lakes of the great Lac Saint-Jean. The lakefront remains one of the best places to walk on the water's edge during the summer with food service on site. Note that there is no supervision and swimming is not recommended.
